Friday, February 19, 2010 He Told Me Everything We are told in Scripture that there is joy in Heaven when one sinner repents. After Jesus spoke to the woman at the well we are told that "many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified "He told me all that I ever did.'"(John 4:39) What did she mean by saying, "He told me all that I ever did"? The answer is clear. He spoke to her about her transgression of the Seventh Commandment.(John 4:16-18) What was the result? Many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Jesus. How can we best imitate the Master? We can also testify using the same Law to show sinners their personal transgressions. The next time you witness, use the Ten Commandments as Jesus did, and watch what happens. There goes another minute. Gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time.

Thursday, February 18, 2010 Hell is a Good Reason It's unwise to give an unrepentant sinner the message of God's forgiveness unless he shows some evident concern about his salvation. For example, lust is such a blinding and powerful sin, a man will not want to let it go unless he becomes convinced that it's in his best interest to do so. Hell is a very good reason to do so. So, use the analogy of lust being like a sparkling stick of dynamite in a child's hand. He loves the sparkle and holds it close with great delight. He doesn't realize that it will kill him. Lust sparkles before the face of the unsaved, but it will brings terrible destruction. The Bible says "it brings forth death." Without the understanding that he is in danger, sin will damn him. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 Asking God One Question If you (as a Christian) were allowed to ask God one question face to face, what would it be? Perhaps you would ask how and when you will leave this life. Is that a frightening thought to you? Perhaps we should meditate on it, because it would help us to inject eternity into the temporal. Thinking about life and its transient nature can help us to think about death and eternal implications for the lost, and that's what matters most. We are safe in the arms of Jesus, but they are in their sins and if they die in that state, they will go to Hell forever. We must therefore make every moment count in our efforts to reach them with the Gospel, and if we are not doing that, we must begin doing it today. There goes another minute. Gone forever. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 Then Will I Teach After David had sinned with Bathsheba and God used Nathan the prophet to expose his sin, the king cried, "Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your loving kindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions." Our sins can be blotted out, not because of anything we have done, but because of the "multitude of [God's] tender mercies." Then David pleaded, "Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin." Notice the word "thoroughly." Have we been "thoroughly" washed or is there some dirty little secret sin still clinging to our flesh? Being clean in God's sight is the great key to reaching to lost. Then David prayed, "Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You." There goes another minute. Gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time.
