Pray For Us...
This is the plea of persecuted Christians around the world. Today around the world over 200 million are suffering for their faith in Jesus Christ. Each year, Canadians join with Christians in over 130 countries to stand in prayer with our suffering sisters and brothers for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP).
The Second Sunday in November
In recent years, Canada has recognized IDOP on the third Sunday in November so as not to conflict with Remembrance Day services. This year, Canada will re-join its international partners and recognize IDOP on the second Sunday in November, on Sunday, November 8, 2009.
Persecuted: Not Abandoned
Each year, IDOP Canada selects a theme. For 2009, our theme is "Persecuted: Not Abandoned," based on 2 Corinthians 4:7-8. Click here to learn more about IDOP 2009.

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church – 2009
In the traditional church calendar, "All Saints Day" and "All Souls Day" stand out in the month of November, set apart to remember the saints of the church and the souls of those who departed this world. It is fitting that the modern church has set apart the month of November to remember and pray for the persecuted church, through the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP).
The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is a time set apart for us to remember thousands of our Christian brothers and sisters around the world who suffer persecution, simply because they confess Jesus Christ as Lord.
