Revelation 20:15

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

For further study - Revelation 20:1-15

This chapter of Revelation has three distinct sections from which I want to share some very important insight with you. This chapter also is after the seven year Tribulation.

You will notice that the first three chapters of Revelation are before the Tribulation and the last three chapters of Revelation are after the Tribulation. The other 16 chapters, 4-19, are the details of the Tribulation.

As I mentioned, there are three different elements to this chapter. Verses 1-3 and 7-10 are the account of Satan being bound, loosed for a “season” and then cast into the “lake of fire”, forever.

Verses 4-6 deal with the 1,000 year Kingdom Period when Jesus Christ, and the “bride of Christ”, the “church”, will “rule and reign” from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. This is the “Kingdom” promised to the Jews, Daniel 7:13-14.

The last element of Revelation 20 is the “Great White Throne Judgment”, verses 11-15.The Great White Throne marks the “end of history”. The next two chapters,21-22, take us into “eternity future”. “History” begins at Genesis 1:1 and concludes with Revelation 20:11.

Notice that Satan will be “bound for 1,000 years, verses 1-2. This will be the very first time that Satan will be “bound”. There is no such event as “bounding” Satan in any other passage.

We do not have the “power” to bound Satan. We must “submit ourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from us”, James 4:7. Only God has the power to “bind” Satan.

The Devil will be in the “bottomless pit” for that 1,000 years and then released,verse 7. He will try and gather all those un-believers from the Kingdom Period, ones born in the Kingdom Period, those who reject Jesus even in a “perfect time”.

This “army”, Satan and those he gathers at the end of the Kingdom, will be taken and thrown into the “lake of fire”, verse 10, where the Antichrist (Beast) and the False Prophet, verse 10, have been at this time in history for 1,000 years.

Verses 4-6 reveal the time of the Kingdom and those who will “rule and reign” with Christ for that time period. Those who know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour down through the ages will be a part of that “ruling party”.

Verses 11-15 are the revelation of the terrible time of judgment for all lost people. This will not be a “judgment” to determine whether someone is “saved or lost”, no one will stand at this judgment unless they are “lost”. This will be the time for “sentencing” the lost to the “lake of fire”, forever.

This passage reveals the “judge”, verse 11, the “judged”, verses 12-13 and the “judgment”, verses 14-15. This truth of the “Great White Throne” leaves me with a “mixed emotion”, happy with the “joy” that comes with serving Jesus, and very “sad” about those who have “rejected” Jesus.

These events, the “binding of Satan”, the “Kingdom Period” and the “Great White Throne” are key in the scheme of God’s plan for the future. But let me remind you that what “triggers” these events is the Rapture.

The next event on “God’s calendar” is the Rapture. This is when Jesus calls us up to be with Him, in the heavens. This event could happen at any moment, therefore, we must be ready ever moment of ever day.

PRAYER THOT: Thank you Lord for supplying us with the scenario that will unfold in the very near future. All the events that lead up to these three elements, the “binding of Satan”, the Kingdom Period with the focus on Jesus Christ reigning on the Temple Mount, are in the process of being fulfilled everyday. Give me the power to live for you every moment of every day.

The Wonderful Angel February 1, 2011 "And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?" (Judges 13:18) This intriguing encounter occurred during one of Israel's periods of apostasy and servitude, when the people had been ruled for 40 years by the pagan Philistines. There was one godly couple in the tribe of Dan, however, who evidently had long been praying for a son, and God finally answered their prayers. "The angel of the Lord" came to give the good news to Manoah and his wife. The remarkable son who was to come was mighty Samson, who later would free his people. But it is the Angel Himself who is most intriguing here. His name was "Secret," meaning "too marvelous even to comprehend. " The same word is translated "Wonderful" inIsaiah 9:6, where it is cited as a name of the coming divine Son, whose name would also be "mighty God" and "everlasting Father." This "angel of the Lord" was thus none other than God the Son in one of His rare pre-incarnate appearances, or theophanies, when the invisible God manifested Himself visibly to man. There are many created angels (Hebrews 12:22), or "messengers," of God, but on certain occasions, this One who is called "the angel of the Lord" (also "the angel of his presence," as in Isaiah 63:9, and "the Angel which redeemed me," as inGenesis 48:16), is clearly none other than God Himself. In such cases, it could only have been the pre-incarnate Christ, for the Bible says: "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him" (John 1:18). God had already revealed Himself in this way to great men of God, and now even to an unknown couple. Eventually this Angel, whose name is Wonderful, "was made flesh, and dwelt among us" (John 1:14), and will one day dwell with His people forever (Revelation 21:3). Primul lucru pe care l-a spus Isus după învierea Sa a fost: ”Mergi la frații Mei și spune-le că Mă înalț la Tatăl Meu și la Tatăl vostru”. Când semnificația învierii Lui a fost dusă la bun sfârșit prin venirea Duhului Sfânt, descoperim că în mod spontan, credincioșii din Ierusalim au fost constituiți într-o familie spirituală, ei ”frângeau pâinea din casă-n casă”. Mai târziu, se face referire la un grup local ca fiind ”Biserica din casa ta”. Să ne amintim că începutul unei familii necesită doar doi oameni responsabili spiritual. Oare să nu fi fost acesta principiul din spatele trimiterii ucenicilor ”doi câte doi”?

Dar să ne amintim întotdeauna că familia este planul guvernator al lui Dumnezeu și ea nu reprezintă un sfârșit. Plinătatea spirituală este sfârșitul Lui, nu doar părtășia spirituală. Mult a avut de pierdut Domnul și copiii Lui datorită altor forme care au luat locul plinătății spirituale! Atenție la substituenți! Atenție să nu pierdeți ceva din măsura ”pentru care ați fost apucați”! Acesta este unul din pericolele izolării și îndepărtării de familie, de casă. Legătura cea mai puternică a unei familii adevărate este că ea dorește și vrea ca toți membrii ei să fie călăuziți de cap. Dacă dorința Domnului pentru plinătatea spirituală ne-ar călăuzi pe toți, acesta ar fi un principiu călăuzitor și sigur, o putere care ne-ar elibera de multe interese sau judecăți personale, neînsemnate, care sfârșesc în limitare și dezamăgire. Suntem foarte siguri că plinătatea spirituală este posibilă doar prin descătușarea din orice sistem artificial, făcut de om și întoarcerea la temelia simplă, dar puternică a vieții organice păstrată curată prin călăuzirea directă a Duhului Sfânt, așa cum a fost la început. Preaiubiților, Domnul să vă deschidă inimile spre tot ce este El, iar rugăciunea noastră este, asemenea cuvintelor Apostolului: ”ca nici unul din voi să nu se pomenească venit prea târziu.”
