A MOTHER’S SONG
If I could ask the birds
To sing to you a song,
They’d wake you in the morning
And sing the whole day long.
They would sing to you a love song
Of admiration and applause.
They would sing of your unselfishness,
Of your labor, and your cause.
They would sing in adoration,
In respect for who you are.
For your unconditioned love,
For your ever-giving heart.
If I could ask the birds
To sing from trees above,
They’d sing a song of thankfulness,
And sing to you my love.
